A Sustainable Plant-Based Bamboo Toothbrush!

INTRO

The Moso Bamboo used for VirtueBrush has many material and environmental virtues. It grows quickly and re-grows quickly after harvesting, up to three feet in a day. It’s actually a type of grass that has natural antibacterial qualities, dries out quickly and has a tensile strength that rivals steel.

The VirtueBrush Bamboo Toothbrush is a sustainable alternative to plastic toothbrushes that are hard to recycle and often end up in landfill, our waterways and oceans where they break down into smaller and smaller pieces of plastic causing harm to the environment.

Moso Bamboo is a great replacement for plastic and is recommended by the Zero Waste Lifestyle Movement. Activated Charcoal is also very on trend at the moment due to its antibacterial and teeth whitening qualities.

VirtueBrush was developed with advice from dentists and dental hygienists and was recently featured in The Irish Times, The Irish Examiner, TV3, ShelfLife Magazine and Retail News.

Over a billion toothbrushes in the US alone are used and disposed of each year, amounting to approximately 23,000 tonnes of landfill each year. horrific!

The plastic they’re made of will not break down in our lifetime... nor within the lifetime of our children or our children's children!

This 2.5cm brown paper sticky tape is a good all-purpose tape, useful for craft projects and packaging. It can be left on packaging for recycling in your green bin.

What it contains: 1 60-metre roll of brown paper tape 2.5 cm wide.

Why I love it: Cruelty-free, biodegradable, compostable and recyclable.

did you know that plastic utensils are made from such low grade plastic that they're usually not even recyclable? they must be put in the garbage bin for disposal - sad.

most plastic cutlery is made from a type of plastic known as polystyrene.

polystyrene or expanded polystyrene is more commonly referred to as styrofoam.

it is very difficult to recycle Styrofoam.

most counties simply do not offer styrofoam recycling and thus plastic cutlery that is put into a recycling bin is usually just sorted out at the recycling facility and sent to a landfill.

in a nutshell, you won't regret bringing a Spork home!

DIRECTIONS

Before first use, you may want to soften the wrap gently with a hairdryer or follow the pasteurisation instructions below.

Clean with lukewarm water and soap and hang to dry. Reuse.

You can refresh and repasteurise your wrap every few months by placing on a baking paper in the over for a few minutes at 70-100 degrees.

Do not use with hot food, raw meat or in the microwave.

With good care your wrap should last approx. a year.

You can then place it in the compost or cut into strips as a fire starter.
