A tad late for #worldbookday but better late than never!
This year, my pick is ‘Less is More - How degrowth will save the world’ by Dr Jason Hickel.
What a book!
I strongly believe that this book should be mandatory reading for schools and universities all over the world. I find it hard to talk about sustainability when the world is geared towards MORE - more customers, more sales, more profits... more of everything, really.
As a business owner myself, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to push for more sales, for example. I will explain... This little business called @reuzi.ie offers sustainable alternatives, but I no longer feel comfortable actively pushing it for the sake of more and more and more... I know that customers will come to us whenever they need and that’s good enough for me. Call me crazy, but this is who I am.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on #degrowth and of course, get a few book recommendations here and there.
